“The Two wheeled death machine lives on!” – Evil Bikes
Fresh from the science lab the updated Insurgent LB has broken out of its test tube and is back with a vengeance. The Insurgent was the 27.5″ wheeled bike Evil didn’t even want to make. But as it turns out, the Insurgent has proven itself to be a hell raiser, ready to separate your tyres from your rims in every corner. The short snappy chainstays, low bottom bracket and long top tube make shredding just a little bit better’er.
Without trying to re-invent the wheel, Evil added boost rear axle spacing, and two fresh new colours; Freddy Mercury and Yogurt Truck. Evil also managed to shave almost a half-pound off the overall frame weight while improving ride quality. You just know it’s just gunna be lighter, fastest and gnarlier than ever before. Most importantly, Evil added water bottle cage mounts because it turns out that people like to drink water while they ride their bikes.
THE BALANCE OF FUN, POP AND CRUSHING ROCK GARDENS
The original Insurgent was born in a time of turmoil, 26 was dying, 27.5 and 29 were the flavour of the day and nobody could decide which one they liked better. Evil tuned out the noise, busted out of the trends and made a bike that’s fun and had us slashing corners, ripping single track and hitting jump lines. It didn’t disappoint us then, and now it’s just a little bit better’er.
The Insurgent LB is ready to suit your shredding needs. If your favourite past-time is racking up king-of-the-mountain accents and padding your strava stats then you can choose between a RockShox Monarch Plus or the Fox DPX2 rear shock to convert all your power into momentum with mind bending traction and a dependable feeling of plushness. If you prefer sending-it-to-flat, upgrade to the Push ElevenSix, which turns the bike into a square-edge-hit, traction generating, and bottomless feeling two wheeled death machine

The whole suspension system, every attribute, is developed concurrently with each other, with the shock absorber, and with the bike’s intended use and geometry in mind. Main pivot location was carefully chosen to give the best balance of acceleration and braking performance. This careful positioning lets the bike accelerate without the need for excess damping, which in turn helps Evil push the limits of shock setup as far as possible to achieve ideal damper setup for any World Cup track. One of the biggest advantages of the system is its ability to let riders and mechanics adjust frame geometry without changing leverage rate and wheel rate at all.
THE FLIP CHIP
At the heart of the Delta System, is a simple chip that we call the Flip Chip. At it’s most basic, the Flip Chip allows riders to change bottom bracket height and head angle by flipping the chip. This adjustment, like we said above, leaves the leverage rate curve and orientation of the linkage unchanged. The slight offset in bearing bore creates a simple interface that allows the rider to personalise their ride. It’s about finding what works for the way you ride and the terrain you ride in.
THE FLIP CUP
The Flip Cup is a proprietary headset design between FSA and Dave Weagle. The headset allows for either a +1° or -1° adjustment to the head angle of the frame. By simply removing and rotating the lower cup 180°, and reinstalling, a rider can adjust the head angle providing either tighter handling characteristics (-1°) or a slacker setup (+1°). Using the Flip Cup and the Flip Chip together provides the rider with four independent geometry positions to which they can customize and personal their ride. It’s all about finding what’s right for you, where you ride, and the way you want to ride.
